My Approach to Helping
I believe that you are capable of developing insight, deepening your understanding and empathy and making behavior changes that will have positive effects on your sense of self and your relationships. Working with individuals,couples and families as a relationship expert, I explore needs and goals, offer support and guidance in improving interaction, and design behavioral pattern changes. Life's challenges are difficult and I bring personal experience and professional practice to a wide range of issues. By exploring past history, current interactions and hopes for the future, we examine which patterns in thinking, feeling, communicating and behaving are working and which need to be altered. Reaching out for therapy is a positive move toward increasing your satisfaction, reducing stress and conflict and providing a foundation for building hope.
In working with individuals, couples and families, the issue of conflict in relationships is a primary reason for seeking help. I provide experience in anger management, get positive feedback and see productive results. By exploring past and present relationships, issues of shame, self worth, thought process and triggered feelings, we will increase understanding of your reactions that create negative consequences. By practicing techniques you will relieve frustration while gaining control, express yourself assertively and less aggressively and will improve your personal and professional relationships.

Initial phone consultation, 15 minutes for free.
Individual session, 50 minutes for $125.00
Couple or family session, 60 minutes for $150.00
Anger Management, 8 scheduled sessions, 50 minutes for $100.00 ea.
Payment accepted in cash, check or credit card.
Sliding fee scale is available as needed.
While I do not accept insurance, if your policy will cover an out of network provider, I will supply you with receipts to submit for reimbursement.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
Hearing your stories, creating trust and connection and helping you try things differently and move forward. I meet with a variety of individuals and value and address their wide range of needs with useful results. Especially in addressing relationship problems, I structure sessions that enable each partner's feelings and needs to be fully heard and respected. Relationship conflict signals a need for change and growth. Couples reaching out for help are making a very positive effort and see improvement.

Information and memories of your family background, relationship history, physical symptoms, current challenges, future goals and hopes. In providing anger management, understanding the underlying feelings that trigger a problematic reaction is the first step toward behavior change. By exploring your vision of what your life would look like if you felt that therapy had helped and you were ready to move on, creates a picture of your wants and needs, something we explore and work to achieve.
