My Approach to Helping
BIG CHANGES HAPPEN. I help people adjust to change by developing their own inner-strengths. Using openness, respect and humor in a relaxed setting, I tailor my approach to fit each individual client. I utilize a blend of counseling techniques that not only have a lot of evidence to show they really work, but also develop clients' strengths. Developing clients' strengths can help them to overcome their current challenges AND can help them to handle problems down the road.

More Info About My Practice
While many counselors are trained to be rather hidden and neutral, I try to speak openly from my heart. I'm a real person who sincerely wants to help. My clients have told me that my genuine and non-judgmental style helps them feel relaxed and secure. I'm passionate about helping clients live life to the fullest, and to assist people who are navigating changes in life to find peace of mind with their "new normal".
Had a Negative Therapy Experience?
Most people won't connect with every therapist; however, nearly all of my clients have expressed that they felt significantly better because of our collaborative work. The word "collaborative" is key, and I work hard during sessions to provide as many insights and tools that I feel might be helpful. If you've had a negative therapy experience, I encourage you to try again.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
Each and every one of us encounter challenges in life. As a therapist, my own struggles have helped me achieve greater empathy for what my clients are experiencing. I also have experienced the power and wisdom of setting small, incremental goals in order to maximize the odds of reaching a larger goal, and I share this and other strategies from my personal experience with my clients. My diverse background -- that includes the business world -- has given me many life experiences to draw upon.
