My Approach to Helping
I can understand and relate to the hesitation in finding a therapist and starting therapy. My philosophy is that everyone at sometime in their life could benefit from therapy. I encourage an open, warm, and non-judgmental environment. I want you to be comfortable coming to session and taking the journey of healing and well-being together.
I have a variety of experience working with different populations. I have been in the human service field for about 14 years. I have worked with children and families, adults with mental illnessco-occurring disorders, and court-ordered treatment.
I use a Cognitive Behavioral approach, Solution Focused, while using Dialectical Behavioral tools to cope with everyday struggles. I have extensive experience working with individuals who suffer from depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, OCD, addictions, anger management, and personality disorders.
I graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelors of Arts (2004) in Family Studies and double minor in Substance Abuse PreventionIntervention and Psychology and Siena Heights University (2007) with a Masters of Arts in School and Community Counseling and then graduated in (2014) with a Masters in Instruction Design and Training and Development.
