My Approach to Helping

Jill Ahrens Tucker, LPC-S, is a licensed professional counselor, as well as a board-approved supervisor for LPC interns. She offers group, individual, and family counseling to young adults, adolescents, and their families, as well as parent coaching to parents of teens and tweens who are struggling through the tough adolescent phase of parenthood.

Jill incorporates experiential activities into her group and individual sessions with adolescents and young adults. Jill has been practicing since 2005, and in private practice since September of 2015. She co-founded TruthTribe in October 2015 with Jessica Pass, LMFT-S.

Jill attended DBT Foundational Training in November 2016 and completed her training in February of 2017. She attended RO DBT Training in May of 2017 and completed her training in January of 2018.

Jill is also a registered yoga teacher. She completed the Teacher Empowerment Program at Big Power Yoga in January 2015, and she teaches yoga as part of TruthTribe.

Jill and Jessica Pass, LMFT-S, have collaborated to create TruthTribe, a yoga and group therapy experience for adolescent girls searching for community, purpose, and wholehearted living. TruthTribe empowers young women to know who they are, to say what they need to say, and own their unique offerings to the world.

Jill is currently practicing at Heights Haven in Houston, located near 18th and Shepherd in The Heights. She is also running groups combining yoga and therapy for adolescent women called TruthTribe, and she facilitates a group for mother's of adolescent females on a weekly basis. My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

I believe therapy can be helpful in a multitude of ways. It is crucial for me to provide a safe, confidential space for my clients. Therapy can allow you to take a good look at yourself in a supportive environment, with honest, compassionate feedback that allows for feelings come up, be processed, and validated in a way that does not often happen in the outside world. Therapy is a place to find self-acceptance, healing, and happiness.
