My Approach to Helping
You are probably searching here because you need something in your life to change. Perhaps you are not sure how to start or who to call. For the last 40 years I've specialized in working with adult individuals offering them personalized treatment and the experience of a seasoned professional. Over the years of being a therapist, I have helped many clients to find understanding, relief, and connection in their lives. My view is that people have many strengths, competencies, and skills that have assisted them in their life journey long before they step into my office.
Often when people enter therapy they have long forgotten these natural strengths. Together we re-discover and re-connect to the the authentic self in a non-blaming and respectful relationship. While we may problem solve many issues of daily living, I believe that this accepting relationship is at the heart of true healing and change. I am known for helping my clients with an approach that is empathetic, yet direct and active. I believe in engaging my clients in conversation, not sitting in silence. I also firmly believe that humor is a universal healer!
More Info About My Practice
From the moment you call, you will only be speaking and dealing directly with me throughout your therapy process. During our initial phone consultation, we will briefly discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, payment issues and scheduling. I will explain the process of video counseling, answer any questions you have and decide if it is a good fit.

I am skilled at helping my clients learn specific skills and tools to manage emotions, relationship conflicts and life stressors. This can include communication skills (such as assertiveness), cognitive behavioral techniques (changing thoughts and behaviors), relaxation techniques, homework assignments and readings.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Going to therapy doesn't mean we are weak. We all long for comfort, peace of mind and the opportunity to achieve that. All of us hope to be happy, strong and whole. So many of us have wounded and vulnerable parts of ourselves that arise from painful losses and the complex stresses of daily life. I will help you through the process of therapy and will provide you with tools that you can use to improve your life and relationship to others.
