Seeking help for personal struggles can leave one feeling vulnerable and unsure. A therapist's first job is to build a relationship so that you feel comfortable and secure in a non-judgmental atmosphere. My therapeutic approach is genuine to who I am, it is both warm and direct. Our sessions will be conversations with a lot of back and forth content: I consider myself part coach, part therapist due to my interactive style.

If you are experiencing physical symptoms of stress, if your relationship is in a crisis state, or if you aren't really sure why you have deep feelings of discontentment, therapy may be the right path for you. The solutions to these issues are within you, we will work together to make a plan to uncover them.

Some of the work will be very strategy oriented and practical, other parts of it will address issues of family history and connection. Ultimately, our work together will lead you to a calmer place and the ability to have more satisfying relationships.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Anxiety is the primary reason most people come to see me. I love this work because there is so much that you can do to get relief without medication. Anxiety work requires a multi-faceted approach - there is an education piece, there is a reflection piece, there is a strategy and methods piece. I will help you understand your destructive thought patterns and give you techniques so that you can rely on yourself to feel less anxiety and worry.

I consider relationships the cornerstone of my practice. I can help you understand better ways to communicate with others so that you feel more effective in your interactions. Parenting work in particular is one of my greatest passions - I enjoy showing parents how to interact with their children more effectively, especially when their child has special needs.
