My Approach to Helping
Life can be challenging at times. Counseling can help when you're wanting to make a change or working towards new goals. Clients often come to me after they have struggled to make those changes on their own or after they haven't seen enough progress in prior experiences with counseling. I work alongside my clients to help them overcome anxiety, depression, trauma, and more. From ages two to 102 (or more), counseling can assist with life's challenges and transitions. Counseling can help empower and provide the skills to make positive and meaningful life changes.
I believe counseling should be tailored to the client and their needs. As a Registered Play Therapist and a Board Certified Counselor, I utilize play-based and expressive therapies with all ages when appropriate. I have found this is beneficial when working with families, children, adults, and couples.
I am a Registered Play Therapist, Registered Yoga Teacher, and Board Certified Counselor. I am trained in the Mindful Schools curriculum and completed Level 2 Gottman Training. I am MBSR-T certified. I have presented locally, nationally, and soon to be internationally. I serve on the board for the Alabama APT.
