My Approach to Helping
Feeling overwhelmed, anxious or alone right now? Between the constant strain to do more with less, 24 hour news cycle and social media, your systems may feel like you're always in "GO" mode. Ironically, it's the perfect opportunity to learn how to take care of yourself. Trying to change our surroundings is a lot of work for little return, but learning to change how we experience and react to our surroundings is invaluable. We are always going to have uneasy and uncertain times. I want to help you both problem solve and grow from these difficulties. You already have a wealth of knowledge from your experiences, the good and bad alike.
Therapy must be an engaging, active and conversational experience, where sessions should feel natural, yet challenging. To be challenged, you must be comfortable and invested in your own progress. It is important that sessions end with a new understanding of yourself, no matter how small, whether it's a new outlook, self-compassion or ability to laugh.
Whatever you put in, I will always match. I believe that a positive therapeutic relationship lays the foundation for growth and change. As your therapist, I want to help you with whatever goals you may have. I am flexible, nonjudgmental, and excel at meeting clients where they are at.
