I believe that each of us is entitled to happiness and well-being. That said, various obstacles can stand in our path towards such well-being and I believe it is my job to help determine what those obstacles are, collaboratively clear them away, and impart to you some tools to continue to do it on your own. This may take a couple of months. It may take some years. Each individual, couple, or family calls for different time frames and techniques. I believe that each of us knows, on a deep level, what is best for us. My goal is to help you access this part of yourself. Too often we push aside what our feelings (both sensory and emotional) are telling us in service of early roles we took on in childhood or in response to deeply ingrained notions that are not our own, but given to us by our social and family systems. I hope to help you find some freedom in releasing these early ideas and bravely shaping your own life. There are many ways to do this, but fundamentally, I believe it is a balance of honest investigation, validation, and challenge that promotes change and growth. At the forefront of a successful therapeutic experience is the relationship between client and therapist and I take this privilege very seriously. I try to create a space in which my clients can truly be themselves, explore honestly, and express to me what is and isn't working, both in their lives and in the therapy. I strive to offer my clients the validation and positive regard we each deserve and my hope is to create a trusting relationship in which healing can take place.
