My Approach to Helping
I finished my master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling in 2013 and since then I've worked with adults, adolescents, and families in private practice, residential treatment facilities, online, and correctional facilities. I believe in a collaborative strengths-based approach in which goals are developed based on what's most important for the client. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor with extensive experience working with trauma, anxiety, and depression.
My work is dedicated to being trauma-informed and health-based with the mindful observation of internal and external experiences. I promote a person-centered relationship with those interested in identifying and pursuing their values and goals.
My approach is nonjudgmental and strengths-based. Most unproductive behaviors are due to a lack of awareness or skill, I believe, and not a character defect or flaw. I aspire to assist clients in empowering themselves via skills and self-awareness in order to manage life challenges effectively and in concordance with their values.
