I provide supportive and compassionate individual, couple, group and family therapy and have been practicing for almost two decades. I have specialized clinical experience and training in grief and bereavement, depression and anxiety, pre and post adoption and infertility counselling, parenting issues, including separation and divorce and custody and access assessments (including Views and Preferences of the Children Reports for Ontario court). My approach to therapy includes the use of relaxation and meditation, cognitive-behavioural therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and focused psychotherapy. The specific approach to therapy will depend on a thorough assessment and exploration of your needs and experiences and a mutually defined intervention plan.

I am currently completing a mentorship to become a private adoption practitioner and am training in Alternate Dispute Resolution in Family Group Conferencing. Please contact me for a free telephone or in-person consultation.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

I feel that everyone can benefit from psychotherapy - whether it be due to a crisis or trauma, prolonged stress, or when experiencing a struggle at work or at home. The therapeutic relationship is vital by providing you access to a trained professional who is both impartial and objective and who is also genuinely invested in your personal growth. I chose the name "Verve Therapy Network" for my business as I feel that a large part of my job is to help people recover their vitality and enthusiasm for life. I enjoy using humour and an eclectic, evidence-based approach with individuals, couples and families to help them to regain strength and vitality, in all spheres of life.
