My Approach to Helping
My approach focuses on wellness rather than pathology. I'm interested in helping you reach your full potential, so you can learn how to thrive and feel satisfied with your life.
My approach uses depth techniques such as Mindfulness and Internal Family Systems Therapy to identify and explore the underlying causes of your issues and concerns. The goal of these approaches is to facilitate personal transformation which can empower you to let go of negative or unwanted feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.
More Info About My Practice
I have over five years experience working with people facing a variety of challenges including trauma, depression, anxiety, and relationship conflict. In addition, I have specialized training and passion for working with new moms and dads as they navigate the challenges of early parenthood. As a mother myself, I understand how dramatic the transition from an independent lifestyle to the responsibilities of motherhood can be. Being a parent is hard work! If you're a mom or dad in need of support I'd love to help.
My Role as a Therapist
My role as a therapist is to stay focused on you and to provide safety, support and guidance. In sessions, I strive to help you slow down so we can really listen to and understand your struggles and hopes. The key to your healing is inside you, through listening deeply we can identify both your wounded places and your capacity for healing.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Sometimes taking that first step toward reaching out for help can be intimidating. Perhaps you're not sure what to expect or if therapy can be helpful. Perhaps you're afraid therapy may bring up uncomfortable feelings or cause you to ask yourself difficult questions. With so many unknowns I understand why many people hesitate or put off starting therapy. Sometimes life seems to be urging us to take risks and be brave. I believe the many potential benefits of therapy far outweigh any risks. It's up to you, this is your life, how do you want to live it?
