My Approach to Helping
Healing is truly possible! Each person has immense strength and resilience. My passion and success with individuals is seen through walking alongside you to build upon areas of hope for improved well-being. People do not need to go through these things alone. I strive to provide quality, trustworthy, and professional guidance to my clients in a collaborative, nonjudgmental manner. I have years of experience safely assisting those who have gone through trauma, sexuality-based issues, and those struggling to manage difficult emotions, thoughts, and relationships.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with extensive training in multiple, evidence-based therapy techniques, my therapeutic approach can include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - to address unhelpful thinking patterns, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) - to enhance skills for managing emotions and relationships, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) - to improve self-worth and decrease sensitivity towards traumatic memories, and family systems theories.

I am skilled at helping children and adolescents who have struggled with sexual boundaries. I have years of experience supporting families when parents may worry about what their child may access on the internet or be exposed to among other peers. These conversations can be difficult and I greatly enjoy facilitating healing and education in this important area of need.

My background working as a trauma therapist has proven that any number of things could be considered traumatic. Trauma can include a time when you may have doubted yourself or others, any instances of low self-worth, feeling tension in relationships, surviving abuse or neglect, or having gone through an uncomfortable experience. These memories can be overwhelming and affect many areas of one's life. It is important to address these memories in a safe way. Together we can prepare for how to process these memories.
