My Approach to Helping

Immediate appointments available. Online scheduling.

I love helping clients who feel stuck in anxiety or depression to move forward with their lives. There are a lot of reasons why people get stuck - past trauma, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, PTSD, and many others. I will work with you to understand why your current situation developed and how to help you move forward. I have extensive experience working with people who are impacted by addiction (either your own addiction or that of someone you love); as well as working with clients who are people of faith and who would like to incorporate their faith into therapy.

More Info About My Practice

Due to Covid restrictions I am working entirely online. I use a HIPAA compliant and secure video portal to conduct sessions. Many clients enjoy the experience of being able to do therapy in their own home without having to drive to an office, arrange child care, or take time off work.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

Understandably many therapists are nervous when it comes to talking about their own issues in public. I'm in a different situation. In 2019 I took my childhood church to court over sexual abuse - and won. You can google my name and read all the details. Initially I didn't want clients to know these things about me - therapy is about them, not me. But I've come to discover that the kind of clients I work best with feel an affinity for those who have gone through abuse, especially in a church context. Maybe you've gone through abuse, or maybe you haven't, but if it helps you to know that a therapist understands what its like personally, we might be a good fit to work together.
