My Approach to Helping
I offer a very present and intuitive style and believe that each individual has an inner knowing which we can trust as we work collaboratively to support growth, emotional healing work and transformative processes. I have a holistic and integrative style drawing on several approaches. I consider mind, body, and spirit in our work together. People often reflect that they feel safe and comfortable talking with me and that I am warm and compassionate by nature. I value body oriented awareness and mindfulness practices within our work together and hold special interest in trauma sensitive work. I utilize EMDR often, when appropriate, which can be useful for several issues that arise in life. Areas of particular focus and interest for me in my work with client's are Narcissistic Abuse Recovery, Codependency and Attachment Issues, Personal Growth, Life Transitions, Anxiety, Work Related Issues, Self-Esteem and Stress.
In addition to my psychotherapy practice, I hold certification in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Trauma Training, EMDR, and in mindfulness training and training in Internal Family Systems and Attachment Theory. I am a certified yoga instructor, Nia instructor and facilitator of mindful movement/dance experiences. I am a Reiki Master and also use Healing Touch in a limited number of sessions each week, separate from my psychotherapy practice.
