My Approach to Helping
She has been in the counseling field for close to ten years. In that time, she has worked with substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, trauma, intimate partner abuse, and Marital and Family issues. As a trained Marital and Family Therapist, she takes a systemic view of each situation, assessing how individual factors impact the big picture of a person’s life. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness-Based Practices, Yoga, and Experiential Therapy. She takes a client-centered approach to therapy, utilizing whatever interventions are appropriate to the individual. She specializes in trauma, PTSD, and complex childhood trauma as well as Women’s Issues including self-esteem, body image, codependency, and intimate partner abuse.
