My Approach to Helping
I believe the power of human connection, understanding and empathy are the best enablers of healing. I work to build trust and a strong bond with my clients so that they know they are entering a judgement-free space when we meet.
I am an EMDR-trained therapist. This specialized training allows me to work with my clients to determine and address the root cause of their struggle. This is because EMDR focuses on emotions, body sensations in addition to behaviors and thoughts and helps to heal the brain naturally. While I use elements of mindfulness, talk therapy and parts-work to help my clients manage their day-to-day symptoms, I believe that treating the underlying cause of the problem is the best way to decrease symptoms for long-term benefits. I work with teens and adults who are experiencing a range of symptoms, including depression, anxiety, PTSDtrauma, OCD, personality disorders, bipolar and more. I can meet with you virtually or in the office (in a safe, socially distanced manner).
I offer a free 15-30 minute consultations and would love to speak with you. I currently offer virtual and in-office sessions.
