My Approach to Therapy

Jennifer has her M.A. in clinical mental health counseling from Liberty University. Originally from Alabama, she moved to Seattle with her husband to raise their two kids. Her diverse life experiences, including living abroad and traveling, influence her eclectic counseling style. She focuses on creating a safe, empathetic space for clients, and she draws from approaches such as narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, and the Gottman Method. Jennifer believes in the power of stories, and she helps clients reframe their personal and relationship narratives for resilience and growth. Jennifer has completed Level 2 of the Gottman Method Couples Therapy and has attended various child-centered play therapy training sessions. Now settling in Portland, she enjoys laughing, exploring new places and cultures with her family, and taking long walks with her dog.
