My Approach to Helping
I believe in you. My own personal experience and the experience of working with others over the years has taught me that we all have the capacity to change and grow, when we wish to do so. I’m here to support you in that process of self-discovery and lead you to greater awareness of who you are and acceptance of yourself. I take a holistic approach to my work with clients as I do believe in a mind-body connection, and research supports this theory.
In our counseling work together, we will create space in which you can explore your values, thoughts and emotions in order to create the authentic life experience you desire. My work is mostly non-directive, and based on humanistic theory. I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy in my work with couples.
My areas of expertise are in working with life transitions, relationship issues, divorce, blended families, living with health conditions, fertility challenges, career concerns, substance abuse, body image, and grief.
