My Approach to Helping
Jennifer Elkins, LCSW-C, is a licensed Clinical Social Worker, practicing in Reisterstown & Ellicott City, MD as well as via Telehealth. Her primary focus is Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Attention Deficit Attention Disorder, and Post Traumatic Disorders. Therapy is an opportunity to think out loud with a non-judgmental, supportive professional outside of your typical world. Ms. Elkins utilizes a combination of Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Systemic Therapy, and Crisis Intervention to helps you identify, manage, and cope with your symptoms.
In particular, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a common type of psychotherapy that helps you to increase awareness of inaccurate or negative thinking patterns. Thus, you are able to respond to challenging situations in a more clear and effective way. Ms. Elkins offers her support and insightful comments to uphold her deep-rooted belief in the possibility of change and the importance of maintaining hope. She works with in-house Medical Director, Elsa I. Correa, MD, if medication management is required.
Talking to someone who has no connection to you personally in a warm, safe environment can be a very freeing experience that starts you on the path to improved mental wellness. Ms. Elkins can partner with you to provide a treatment plan that is tailored to you.
