I believe that to heal emotionally from depression, anxiety or any other type of issue, it is important to find the root issue causing these symptoms. These issues affect every aspect of your life but there is relief! I offer therapy that produces results in resolving negative feelings and ongoing struggles. On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Seeing a counselor for the first time can be scary! It's hard to know what to expect, what questions to ask and whether counseling will really help at all, but it is smart and brave to take the first step. It's also difficult to share your story sometimes but amazingly it's very freeing and a great relief to get things out and process them. Everything that is said in therapy is confidential (unless you are in danger to yourself or others).
Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed
The tide is turning in mental health. Hopefully, as time goes by, the stigma will fade more and more. Just as you would do physical therapy for an injury, psychotherapy is important for your brain (thoughts, feelings, emotions). It doesn't mean you're "crazy" or weak to come to therapy. It means you're smart and want to take care of yourself the best that you can! I feel that EVERYBODY needs therapy at some point or another!
