My Approach to Helping
In my practice I stand on core beliefs to serve you with respect, insight, compassion, and empathy. You are free to be yourself, but I will challenge you to be your best self. I believe that regardless of what you are seeking help with today, the eventual outcome you want is CHANGE! If I have the privilege to work with you, I aim to empower you to first see the possibility of change. In my office you will do more than talking and I will do more than listening. My strategies are action-based and change oriented.
I have an integrative approach to therapy because my time in practice has taught me therapy does not come in a one-size-fits all application. I mainly draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and Strengths Based Therapy because I am a big believer in the theory that if you change your mind, you can change your life.
My Role as a Therapist
I have identified through my work that If your relationships aren't good, you're not good. Therefore In addition to working predominantly with people who struggle with depression, anxiety, or difficult transitions my specialty focus is on, couples, maternal mental health, and special needs families. The individuals, couples, and families I work with who encounter these difficulties find my passion for helping them as the key to creating real change and a breakthrough in their relationships.
I guide you with my best work so that you can be your best self. You can't be any good to your children, your spousepartner, friends, or to your colleagues, employeremployees on the business end if you're no good to yourself. It is time for a change and working with me in therapy can make a difference.
Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed
"No man is an island". This is an old saying that I believe applies perfectly to the benefit of participating in therapy. Every doctor needs a doctor, every lawyer needs a lawyer, which infers that attempting to walk on this journey of life on your own can create limitations and barriers that don't have to be there. You are stronger for asking for help and you have nothing to be ashamed of.
We are all flawed and have our weaknesses that create barriers to living our best lives. I provide a judgment free zone where individuals who work with me have said that although we acknowledge and work on their issues, weaknesses, and struggles, I give them insight on seeing their strengths that they were oblivious to before and empower them for real change.
So I'm ready when you are, give me a call or send an email for your complimentary consultation.
