My Approach to Helping
Are there aspects of life that are harder than you ever imagined they would be? Do you find that despite knowing in your heart how you would like to be you often react in old, habitual, and self-defeating ways that you feel bad about later?
The fears and blocks we all live with can keep us from realizing our dearest hopes, dreams, and highest visions of ourselves and our relationships.
I believe that the answers to your life problems are within your own heart. In my coaching and psychotherapy practice I help people to clarify and commit to their personal values and I teach skills for coping with fears, insecurities, anger, and other habitual patterns of reacting so that you can pause and respond to life in ways that are aligned with your heart instead of your fears. You can learn practical techniques for strengthening acceptance, mindfulness, compassion, and confidence to meet life and the ones with whom you share it with love, courage, and authenticity.
More Info About My Practice
I believe that engaging in coaching or therapy is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself and your loved ones, and the world. This work is not easy and it is normal to feel ambivalent about taking that first step. I understand this and offer a free phone consult so that we may discuss your goals and how I might help.
I know that life can be exhausting and many people may have trouble getting away for appointments. I can work with you in person, over the phone, by video conferencing, or any combination of the three.
Limited appointments are available in the evening.

My Role as a Therapist
For over 18 years I have had the honor of helping people thrive, find authentic self-expression in the world, and discover a well of acceptance, appreciation, and kindness for themselves, others, and the world. This work takes courage, so I infuse my approach with humor, creativity, and bigheartedness. The soul of my holistic and collaborative approach is captured by this ACT metaphor: Imagine you and I are both climbing our own mountains. You have to climb your mountain, of course, but not alone - I can help by seeing where the next handholds and footholds are for you to grab.
