My Approach to Helping
Therapy works best when clients feel truly seen and supported. Our approach is relational, compassionate, and evidence-based, meaning we focus on authentic human connection while grounding our work in clinically proven methods.
We meet each client where they are. Our therapists provide care that honors each person’s identity, lived experience, and cultural background — especially for those in the LGBTQIA2S+, neurodivergent, and marginalized communities. We understand that mental health challenges don’t exist in isolation; they’re shaped by systems, relationships, and life experiences.
Our clinicians use a range of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), internal family systems (IFS), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and motivational interviewing, tailored to each client’s goals. We emphasize collaboration — clients are the experts in their own lives, and therapy is a partnership.
We also believe accessibility is a form of care. HTNW offers telehealth and in-person sessions, same-day appointments when possible, and works with Oregon Health Plan (OHP), Tricare, and commercial insurance to reduce barriers to getting help.
Above all, we strive to create a safe, affirming, and healing environment — one where clients can explore, grow, and rebuild trust in themselves and others.
More Info About My Practice
Our mission is simple and local: people in communities treating their neighbors across the Pacific Northwest. Our vision is to create an inspiring space where you can heal, thrive, and grow—not just manage symptoms, but build a life that feels whole and connected. We live this through our core values: Authenticity (showing up human and real); Equity in Action (prioritizing culturally responsive, accessible care for communities too often overlooked); Courageous Care (leaning into the hard stuff with compassion and skill); Client Empowerment (you lead your healing, we walk alongside); and Community Belonging (we serve as part of this region, not apart from it). Grounded in these commitments, every interaction—clinical, operational, and communal—aims to honor your story and support lasting, meaningful change.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
Finding the right therapist is the foundation of meaningful healing. That?s why we take time to understand your goals, preferences, and lived experiences before matching you with a clinician whose style, background, and expertise align with your needs. Whether you?re seeking someone who specializes in trauma, identity exploration, relationship concerns, or neurodivergence, we prioritize compatibility?because the therapeutic relationship is where growth happens.
What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process
We offer something deeper than the traditional therapy experience ? care from clinicians who bring both professional expertise and lived experience to the work they do. We know that healing is most powerful when it comes from people who truly understand what you?re going through. Our therapists don?t just apply theories; they draw from real-life experiences with identity, trauma, neurodivergence, and recovery to offer empathy that feels authentic, not clinical. This human connection allows for better insight, deeper trust, and more sustainable progress.
Because our team reflects the communities we serve, our approach naturally challenges the ?one-size-fits-all? model of therapy. We blend evidence-based methods like CBT, DBT, ACT, and IFS with genuine, lived understanding to create care that is both scientifically sound and personally meaningful. At HTNW, we believe that healing happens through relationship?and that?s why we build therapy around connection, not convention.
