My Approach to Helping
I offer an approach to therapy that is relational, grounded, and warm. My belief in the power of experiential relatedness between the client and myself rests at the heart of my work. I believe the therapeutic relationship can help you increase your awareness of the barriers that diminish your life, and that from this awareness can emerge your latent potential.
I support you through a process that encourages you to locate your more authentic voice, the one from which creativity, wisdom, and freedom naturally spring. I adopt a collaborative, individually tailored approach, working to help you identify personal goals for change. I use a variety of approaches, including mindfulness, insight, acceptance, awareness, and building upon your strengths. These approaches hep you transform unhealthy thoughts and destructive behaviors, while moving toward a more balanced and connected life.

My Role as a Therapist
I've supported people for 20 years, offering a range of benefits: increasing insight, meaning and connectedness, developing effectiveness in the world, exploring Dharma, increasing self-compassion, and building mindfulness. I'm a registered clinical counselor with a master's degree in clinical psychology and a doctoral degree in clinical psychology. My Ph.D. work in transformative interpersonal change directly informs my approach to helping clients find meaning, reconnect, and realize their potential.
My Therapy Focus
Interpersonal Group Therapy: Developing the Psychological Wisdom of our Lives-
In addition to individual, couples, and family therapy I also offer on-going group therapy. This safe and creative group is for individuals who are interested in evolving a more intimate and meaningful experience of themselves and their relationships. It is designed for people who want to examine their style of relating both to self and others; explore new ways of relating, deepen their relationships, while transforming struggles such as depression, anxiety, and grief into insight, joy, and freedom. Processes that enhance self-acceptance and compassion are explored, while cultivating mindfulness of thoughts, feelings, and speech in all circumstances.
