My Approach to Helping
Inclusive Counseling provides individual, couples, family, & group therapy regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, etc. All individuals have value and the capacity to create positive change in their own lives. Connecting or 'clicking' with your therapist is essential to therapeutic progress. When both parties are present (an open, connected client and therapist), positive change occurs. I am most effective treating individuals, couples, and families who are struggling with relationship issues, family conflict, coming out and other LGBT related concerns, substance abuse, parenting, grief and loss, and physical, sexual, and emotional abuse.
I advocate a supportive, accepting, and open therapeutic environment for clients to feel comfortable to engage in personal disclosure & growth. Clients, not the therapist, define what is problematic in their lives and what is not. The therapist's role is as a guide or coach, rather than as a parent.
I enjoy people and being part of their transformation from hopelessness to empowerment. I have learned from and been inspired by every individual that has walked through my office door. I love what I do! I am here to help and I look forward to sharing your journey with you.
