My Approach to Helping
Let's face it - life can be challenging, from tight schedules, lack of sleep, arguments with loved ones, problems at work and physical issues such as headaches and stomach complaints, just to name a few! Most of us typically handle these stresses well enough to function from day to day, but sometimes it can get to be just too much, possibly leading us to self-medicate by engaging in over-eating, excessive drinking or shopping. While these examples might be efforts to feel better short-term, a more lasting approach for relief when life feels out of control is to engage in therapy.
Whether you find your stress level is increasingly high, your relationship is unsatisfying or in trouble, you're experiencing huge life changes or you're engaging in unhealthy behavior patterns, I approach therapy with you right where you are. I view you as a whole person with inner resources and qualities that you've possibly forgotten in the midst of your challenges. Using a strengths-based approach, we focus not only on your problems, but we also work together to uncover your inner strengths while you build tools to access them.
