If you're finally ready to improve your life, you have come to the right place. The mental health professionals at Venthouse Counseling are highly trained and ready to help you get your life back on track.

My name is Jason, and I am the head clinician at Venthouse. My years of experience as a therapist (as well as a client in therapy) have equipped me with the knowledge and skills needed to help you make positive changes. I have provided effective treatment to people with a history of criminality, depression, posttraumatic stress, substance dependency, abuse, and various mental and behavioral health issues.

My counseling style is caring, yet direct. While I know support is important, I also recognize that honesty is crucial in helping you to reach your goals. I don't much sugar coating. That kind of pacifying of reality is closer to enabling, than helping. Having said that, at no point will you question my devotion to your feelings. Successful therapy requires great effort and determination, but I will be with you each step of the way.

I have been in recovery since 2006 and I ventured into the field of mental health care the following year. Many of the lessons and principles that I learned as a client have served me very well as a clinician. The truth is, your life can be amazing if you are willing to work for it. Venthouse Counseling is here to help.

More Info About My Practice

I am one of only a few Credentialed Gambling Assessors in the State of Minnesota. Minnesota covers all costs of therapy associated with gambling.
If you're struggling with gambling, Venthouse is for you!

My Role as a Therapist

I provide education, direction, and support, but most of all my role as a therapist is to give you the nudges that we all need at times.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

They attribute nearly 75% of success in therapy to the "Therapeutic alliance" and the "Installation of hope". Basically, if you 'click' with the therapist and believe that they can help, you are 3/4 of the way there. Pick someone that you can find some trust and comfort with. If that's not me, no sweat. Trust me, they're out there somewhere waiting for you.
