My Approach to Helping
Hi there. My name is Jason Claros. I'm a licensed clinical social worker and I provide tangible clinical intervention and education to anyone looking to achieve social-emotional freedom. In my adult life I've been a pizza delivery guy, collegiatepro baseball player, marathon runner, wedding singer, social worker, foster care analyst, child abuse investigator, school counselor, Olympic weightliftercoach, CrossFit coach, dog dad, dog uncle ("duncle"), and my greatest achievement this far, a husband. I'm not sure if this makes me unique, but I have dedicated my life to two things: caring for others and caring for myself. That second one is the most challenging for many of us. Sometimes we bury ourselves trying to accommodate everyone and make people happy and get everything done but before we know it we didn't eat or drink a thing all day, or we missed the gym because we stayed late at work, or we committed to a few too many kids birthday parties on the weekends we just wanted to sleep. That kind of grind will leave you burned out, anxious, depressed and stressed, and can have a "considerable" (as in negative) physical and emotional impact on you and your relationships. Then we start relying on other people to make us happy when the reality is that those emotional band-aids never last very long.
These behavioral patterns are often rooted in past trauma, but recovery is ALWAYS possible. I've learned through mindfulness, meditation, fitness, nutrition, monotasking, and setting boundaries that by creating just a little bit of space and awareness in your daily life there are opportunities every moment of the day to take back control of your life and go from surviving to thriving. We can explore those opportunities and find out what works best for you.
I offer free 15 minute consultations to see if we are a good fit to work together. I'll end with a favorite quote by Charles Swindoll: "Life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it."
