My Approach to Helping
Mental illness can slow us down, but we do not need to let it stop us. Whether you are struggling with maintaining your own mental health or whether you are a family member or caregiver for an individual suffering with a mental health condition, you are not alone. The challenges of mental illness do not only affect the individual but it also affects the family. I believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to be the best that they can be. I utilize an empathetic positive approach and always remain client centered. I have experience working with individuals, couples, families and groups. I also have experience working with substance abuse.
In addition to being a LCSW, I am a certified teacher with years of teaching experience. Other specialties include: working with parents of adolescents with mental illness; providing parenting support; facilitating family communication and regaining family harmony. I also have experience working with Seniors and adjusting to Aging. Training in DBT, CBT, and Trauma Focused Therapy.
