How Psychotherapy Can Help
Sometimes we get stuck in cycles of behavior that are unhealthy and damaging to ourselves and others. Time and time again, we try to change or fix a situation or problem only to end up back in the same place. A trained psychotherapist can help us see blind spots, develop insight, and replace old habits with healthy ones. Through this trusting, non-judgmental and compassionate relationship, we are able to heal from our past and take charge of our present. It's a process that is difficult at times but ultimately rewarding and life-changing.
Had a Negative Therapy Experience?
If you've had a negative experience with therapy in the past, I am truly sorry. It may be that your therapist wasn't a good fit for you or possibly something more serious, as in an ethical violation. Either way, know that not all therapists are alike nor do they have the same therapeutic approach. I would recommend trying again and discussing your concerns upfront. It is imperative you feel safe and heard. Your well-being should be the therapist's number one priority.
