My Approach to Helping

Therapy is a journey toward self discovery, self realization, growth and change. So many people find themselves struggling with issues such as addiction, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and fear. They create inaccurate beliefs about themselves based on irrational and negative thoughts. Building a positve self is based on learning to see the whole "you" and not just your imperfections and failures.
As human beings, we have a strong tendency to repeat maladaptive patterns. I work with clients in helping them make changes which are necessary, focusing heavily on their strenghts and successes which have been achieved in the past.

More Info About My Practice

I accept some, but not all Insurance Plans. I accept either cash, credit cards, or check as payment for copays and/or self-pay. I will provide an itemized bill to submit to Insurance Company if one chooses to use their Out-of-Network Benefits.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I have received extnsive education and training in the fields of chemical addiction and mental health and received licensing in these areas in Florida, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I have worked in both outpatient and inpatient settings seeing clients with a variety of addiction and mental health issues for the past 26 years.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

I have come to the realization that no one, including myself is exempt from suffering. Suffering is a part of life. My own suffering has made me a better therapist. I am more compassionate and understanding and much less likely to come from a place of blame or superiority. While in therapy myself I experienced what was helpful for me as well as what was not. I learned new ways in which I could survive what life sent my way. My clients have also made me a better therapist and person. They have shown me the resilence humans possess in the face of sometimes unimaginable life events.
