More Info About My Practice

As a therapist, I use evidenced-based treatment to meet your specific needs. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and Somatic (body-based) Therapies are primarily the treatment modalities used throughout therapy. In addition to the above-mentioned therapies, I utilize a variety of different approaches to best fit your needs including but not limited to: Mindfulness-based practices, Trauma-Informed Treatment, Play Therapy and Cognitive-Based Therapies.

My Role as a Therapist

A lot of individuals come to therapy for help with specific symptoms; trouble sleeping, heightened stress, low mood, unable to regulate emotions etc. It is my role as a therapist to help you reduce these symptoms and work towards managing these symptoms as life stressors arise. I also know that a reduction of these symptoms can be a quick solution. My role as a therapist is to help you reduce these symptoms and to also help heal from the deeper root of the problem.

It is not uncommon for individuals to have a negative experience in therapy and believe that therapy is "not for them". A strong relationship between yourself and a counselor is most important for successful therapy. Each therapist has a different style and approach that does not work for everyone. I encourage you to be curious, ask questions, bring up concerns and reflect on your therapy experience.
