My Approach to Helping
My practice, Briarpatch Solutions, mission is to provide affordable and quality mental health care in an open and inclusive environment. We believe in meeting individuals, couples, and families where they are, helping them to reconnect and resolve where they have been, and finally, discover and develop skills to help them reach the place they would like to be.
I began my practice as a solo practice in 2022. In 2023 my practice begins as a group as I expand into a teaching practice so that I may be able to pass on to new marriage and family therapists my philosophy of restorative justice and inclusivity in mental health. This means that I am training a whole new generation of therapists who will be equipped to meet the needs of diverse communities impacted by ever-changing socio-political factors.
As a teaching practice, Briarpatch Solutions is able to offer affordable sliding scale rates to those who are uninsured and low-income.
More Info About My Practice
About me and the values that I instill in my staff of therapists:
I enjoy working with families, couples, teens, and individuals. I pride myself on my work with clients of color, LBGTQ, women, and other marginalized groups. I also work well with adults and teens on the autism spectrum. I interweave systems models of therapy into my work with not only couples and families but also individuals as our family, our roots, go with us wherever we go.
My philosophy is that every human being deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. I offer a low sliding scale fee and file out-of-network for my patients as I work to become fully paneled and in network with major insurances.
I take a systems approach to therapy drawing upon the psychodynamic model, looking at the whole person or family in their respective stages of psychosocial individual or relational development. Self-Schedule your free 15-minute consultation today! www.briarpatchsolutions.org
I am an advocate and ally to anyone who has experienced oppression. I have been active in the BLM movement since its inception and support the efforts of the LBGTQ community as they continue their struggle for equality and dignity. I believe that all people should have access to affordable mental health with a quality and qualified professional.
I take a restorative justice and inclusive approach to my work. I strongly believe that the political is personal and devote efforts, my knowledge, and my talents to helping those who come to me rise up.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
The duration of therapy is a decision made between the individual, couple, or family and therapist. It is dependent upon the urgency and severity of the problems faced.
