My Approach to Helping
Do you often feel overwhelmed by your emotions or confused about why you feel the way you do? Wondering what you can do to make changes in your life? I work with teenagers and adults on issues related to life transitions, relationship struggles, anxiety and depression. Intense emotions such as fear and shame often go along with these issues.
I hold the perspective that emotions can be information, guides to action, and can powerfully affect our perceptions and behaviors.Treating painful emotions as symptoms to be gotten rid of leads us to try to suppress or ignore them.I am here to help you process difficult emotions and create coping skills that can assist you in making positive changes.
My speciality is helping people make the mindbody connection and as a certified yoga instructor, I incorporate the healing modalities of yoga, meditation, and breath work into therapy when possible and appropriate.I value honesty, empathy, transparency, and curiosity and hold space for these values in session.
