My Approach to Helping
Have you experienced the death or loss of a family member or close friend? Have you been harmed by spouses, parents, siblings, friends, people in authority, acquaintances andor strangers as a child or as an adult?
Personal harm and loss can be traumatic and life-altering. Feelings of anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem, and fear of trusting are often symptoms of personal harm and loss. I have many years’ experience working with individuals, families and couples from young adult to elderly, who are experiencing personal and relationship challenges. Some of these challenges are often complicated by stressors and traumatic events involving aging, financial issues, relationship betrayal, the loss or death of a parent or loved one, disability and illness, the loss of employment, bullying (childhood, toxic work environment, etc.), abuse by a parent, sibling or other person.
My approach is client-centered, non-judgmental, gentle and nurturing, and structured. During our work together, you will explore and connect with your inner strengths and resources, and develop skills that will help you heal and feel empowered.
