My Approach to Helping
I love the work that I do. I have the good fortune to meet with people who demonstrate courage, motivation, resiliency and creativity as they navigate their lives. I am a mental health provider with 30 consecutive years experience helping individuals, couples, families and groups. I work in a collaborative manner with my clients to identify struggles and solutions to increase people's capacity for connectedness, resiliency , energy, love and joy. Many clients describe me as warm, genuine, humorous and relate they are appreciative of my direct, informative interaction style and willingness to give feedback on challenging issues. There are a variety of theoretical orientations that I make use of in my work. They include cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness practices, family systems therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy, and solution focused models. I have had diverse and varied life experiences that also help to inform my work.
