My Approach to Helping
Philosophy
My goal as a clinician is to make therapy more approachable and palatable, regardless of your background. I believe that therapy is not just for those with diagnosable disorders, nor is it limited to labeling and grouping. You could be well-suited for therapy if you are having difficulty managing experiences, and emotions, on a day to day basis. We all have strengths and challenges that make us uniquely ourselves. While working collaboratively, we will build resiliency and a stronger sense of self. We can normalize the human experience, working to let go of any shame or fear that may have stagnated progress. My practice is trauma-informed while using techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Sensorimotor Therapy, and other mindfully-based and holistic modalities to champion healing and navigating transitions that may have blocked self-discovery. We can work together to create and maintain a life balance, and you can be a present witness to your life unfold in a meaningful and more purposeful way.

I have also worked in family separation prevention and family reunification, doing home visits and working with each family member on a therapeutic level. I have completed trauma-informed yoga therapy trainings for adults and children. In addition to my clinical experience, I teach yoga and meditation to at-risk youth and low-income communities.
