My Approach to Helping
**I am currently accepting new clients** My name is Hope Sechrest and I am a professional Social Worker who specializes in individual and family therapy. My areas of expertise are early childhood mental health, family issues, depression, anxiety and stress, suicide prevention, grief and loss, and trauma. I also have extensive experience in crisis stabilization and management.
Working in a variety of settings and with diverse populations has shaped me as a clinician and has made me confident working with people in all walks of life with whatever situation they find themselves facing. To work with a diverse group of people it is important to be able to make clients feel heard, comfortable, and safe and this is one of my strengths.
While I love working with all populations, I especially enjoy working with children and families and I would be happy to help with any struggles going on within the family unit. I have training and knowledge on birth to five mental health and early childhood development and bring this into my work with children, families and adults.
Please know that this is a safe place and I take a non-judgmental approach to my practice.
My approach to therapy is a person centered approach where you feel safe and comfortable. Taking the time to build rapport and make a therapeutic plan with you based on your particular goals I very important to me as I want you to feel support, heard, and in control. I use elements of CBT, DBT, talk therapy, and a solution focused approach to offer a personalized approach tailored to each client.
