Dr Honrine Mufuwah is a dual Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of nursing experience. Versatile Certified Nurse Practitioner with a reputation for consistently achieving high levels of patient satisfaction, we believe in providing authentic and empathetic holistic care based on current research and best practices, tailored to individual needs, through assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients to help them achieve their goals. We also believe in treating patients with unconditional positive regard and encourage them to be active participants in their journey to wellness.
What truly distinguishes us from others is our ability to approach mental health care in a holistic manner. Due to our dual certification as family and psych NP, our clinical focus is holistic by treating mental health conditions from both a medical and emotional standpoint. We care for the whole patient and thus treat both psychiatric as well as any chronic medical conditions. Often, there is a significant overlap between underlying medical and psychiatric disorders, and neither should be considered independently of the other. As is rare in the field of psychiatry, our background allows us to rule out any organic medical condition that can account for psychiatric symptoms. We go beyond medication management to empower patients with knowledge about their prescribed medications, including benefits, risks, and side effects, facilitating informed decision-making. We also work seamlessly with other mental health providers to incorporate psychotherapy when necessary to create personalized and comprehensive experiences that acknowledge the uniqueness of each individual mental health journey.
