My Approach to Helping
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who wants to help people and their families with psychotherapy that is easy to understand and kind.
I use a client-centered approach that is personalized based on your individual needs, desires, and strengths. I am passionate about offering compassion, support, and guidance to those I work with while creating an open and positive environment where my clients can feel comfortable growing.
I completed my undergraduate degree in political science at Lake Forest College in 2007 and went on to receive my MSW (Masters in Social Work) from Loyola University Chicago in 2010. Prior to founding my private psychotherapy practice, I worked as a crisis therapist at Community Counseling Centers of Chicago.
In 2017, I received my Yoga Instructor Certification through Yoga Now Chicago. Today, I incorporate yoga and its mindfulness-based principles into my private psychotherapy practice. People who work with me also get help from CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), which I use as part of my approach.
I believe that working with my clients to build healthy coping skills, recognize and change bad habits, and accept and be aware of oneself is the best way to heal from the inside out.
There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to mental health; we all have our own challenges, our own personal experiences, and our own strengths and struggles. In my practice, treatment direction and goals are personalized for optimal happiness.
