I will reflect back on your inherent resources and intelligence and hold you accountable to your intentions. The body and mind are brilliantly interconnected in exquisitely unique ways within each of us. Coming into a conscious relationship with your body and mind is a powerful step towards your empowerment and feeling alive. I invite curiosity for the body sensations that are connected with your thoughts and emotions. This process brings you into the present time and gives more space for what you are feeling to be there with more tolerance and presence. This process involves shifting states of mind and is an excellent tool for developing resiliency and self-regulation. Wherever health is lacking and imbalance is prevalent in our lives, there is some level of fixation, a lack of movement. With appreciation for the intelligence of the ways we have managed in the past, we will seek to support new possibilities at the pace that is right for you. When your whole system gets on board with its own unfolding, an organic re-organization begins to take place touching all areas of your life.

Self regulation is the ability to respond and adapt to the situations in life with a degree of flexibility and presence in thoughts, emotions and behaviors. Resiliency and adaptability is deeply imbedded in the autonomic nervous system (ANS). We know more about this now than ever before. It is speculated that approximately 80% of all health conditions are nervous system related. Without taking the time to reset on a nervous system level, it becomes more and more commonplace to move through life with a certain level of dis-regulation and distress without knowing why or what to do about it. The circumstances surrounding trauma and our general cultural attitudes do not often support the full completion and reset needed for the ANS to function as effectively as it is designed to do. We end up with layers of activation and "unfinished business" which has not had a chance to discharge and reset. The good news is that the ANS can be reset to its natural range of function with a little dedication and TLC. In therapy sessions we work directly with the body and mind to bring balance and resiliency back to the ANS and I teach effective exercises empowering my clients to practice self regulation in daily life.

What I love about being a therapist is that I get to hear your story and reflect back the strength, courage and potential I see in you. It is such an honor to be on a healing journey with a person, and to be witness to each person's self discovery. It takes bravery to reach out for support and to show up for yourself in this way, and I love reminding my clients about how brave they are and how I can see them doing their very best every day. Much of the deepest transformation happens in almost microscopic baby steps. I am here to believe in you when you have forgotten how.
