My Approach to Helping
Feeling sad, lost, anxious? It's okay and a reality for many in the times of COVID. Everyone needs help at one time or another and I applaud you for taking the first step toward better mental health in 2021! If you decide to work with me, you will benefit from over 17 years' worth of experience working with people diagnosed with mental health disorders and individuals who are dually diagnosed (both cognitive and emotional issues). I have been providing individual and group sessions in outpatient clinics since 2012 and have provided in-home consultation for families since 2014.
I take a humanistic and person-centered approach with all my clients but work primarily in the therapeutic framework of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). I have extensive experience working with people experiencing transition in their lives, struggling with relationships, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, bi-polar disorder, and dual diagnosed populations. I have advanced training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Integrative Psychotherapy, brief and solution focused therapy, risk assessment for forensic populations, and working with people who have experienced trauma as a result of sexual abuse or domestic violence.
