My Approach to Helping
Perhaps this is your first time in therapy or you've been in and out of therapy throughout your life-- one thing remains, you wish to be happy. Maybe some aspects of your life feel really fulfilling and successful, but something still feels a bit (or really) off. The way that you've been approaching life & relationships with the same old patterns is not working anymore-- you're ready to begin to learn and uncover new resources, ways of being and to feel empowered in making choices & decisions. My philosophy is one where I feel you already have everything you need but, like all humans, get in your own way of happiness.
I use mindfulness, meditation & body-based techniques to identify "hidden" resources that are already there. You will learn to identify and understand your feelings, increasing your emotional intelligence. You will tap into creativity to "experiment" with different attitudes and ways of being. You will find healthier ways to cope with difficult emotions.
I feel it is of utmost importance for you to feel safe & for us to collaborate--so I will give active feedback & be proactive in therapy but also listen to your needs at the forefront. I work especially well with ACoAs & ACoNs (Adult children) and actors since i have familiarity with the industry having worked in it for 8 years.
