My Approach to Helping

I consider myself a very integrative and collaborative therapist. I believe in equipping you with tools to help you cope with your circumstances and empowering you to experience positive growth and change. I feel passionate about helping you navigate anxiety, depression, life changes, and trauma. I especially enjoy helping women rediscover their voice after experiencing abuse and toxic relationships. I can help with setting healthy boundaries, understanding the cycle of abuse, and providing tools and resources to help you on your journey of healing. Counseling is a journey filled with ups and downs, I think of it like a roller coaster. There will be highs and there will be lows. This is all part of the process. I will be here with you every step of the way on your journey and provide support to you in a safe, judgement free space. I utilize a variety of treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Person Centered, among others. I believe in tailoring my approach to fit the individual because no two people are the same. If you think we could be a good fit, please feel free to reach out. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

The most important factor is treatment is the relationship between the client and the therapist. Research shows that the type of therapy is not nearly as important as the rapport between therapist and client. There has to be trust in order for change and growth to happen in therapy. My first goal when meeting a new client is to establish a bond of trust and safety so you feel safe sharing. It is not easy to be vulnerable, and this should be honored. You are trusting me with your story, and that is not something I take lightly.
