My Approach to Helping

How do each of us live our most fulfilling, satisfying and purposeful life? How can we be the best version of ourselves? Each of us possess the unique human ability to thrive and to be impactful members of society. And yet, inevitably conflicts arise. How do we solve them, how do we manage our anxiety and fears? I work to establish a safe and authentic relationship with you. Together, we can nurture your inherent strengths, gifts and abilities that have gotten you through these conflicts in the past. My goal is that together we can confront the forces that might be getting in the way of living out your most cherished hopes and dreams.

As a social worker, my training taught me how to view individuals within their environment - within a family, a workplace, and the larger culture. We do not live in a vacuum; there are outside forces that impact the life we desire for ourselves. My training and experience with child-centered, strength-based play therapy with children as young as three years old gives these young clients a sense of power over their environments. My extensive work with families in crisis has allowed each family member to draw on their own sense of agency to change their situations and create more peace and joy in their lives. My training in Narrative Therapy has further taught me to see people from many different backgrounds and cultures as endlessly capable to make the changes they desire and to be the hero or heroines of their own story.
