Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
One of the most important factors that impacts whether therapy will work for you is the strength of the relationship (the "client-therapist alliance") with your therapist. If you feel supported, understood, and safe to be totally yourself talking to me, that's a great indicator that you will see the changes you want through our work together. It's incredibly important to me that you know how much I value your autonomy and individuality. Everyone has their own strengths and struggles, and my practice is a judgement-free zone. My clients who are the most open to new perspectives, vulnerable, and willing to put in the work are the ones I see experiencing the greatest positive change in their lives. That is why it's so vital that you find a therapist who feels like a good "fit" for you with their style and personality.
