My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a private practice in North East Los Angeles, where I welcome individuals and couples who are seeking change and transformation.
With an approach rooted in Attachment Theory, and trained in PACT (psychobiological approach to couples therapy), I am uniquely skilled at working with couples and individuals who find themselves repeating self-destructive and painful relational patterns over and over. Many of my clients find themselves at an impasse, wherein the wounds of their early lives have come to influence them so greatly as adults that they find relationships, connections, or self-fulfillment to feel impossible or continually painful. This experience of emotional gridlock can often lead to or exacerbate already difficult symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Therapy sessions with me integrate both insight-oriented interventions and experiential work through the use of meditation and somatic awareness, to aid in reclaiming a place and space for yourself in your life, and to no longer feel overwhelmed by anxious thoughts and hopelessness.
For couples, I will take an active yet supportive role in challenging some of the long-standing cycles of conflict, disengagement, betrayal, and disconnection. Through my training in PACT, and Hakomi (mindfulness-based somatic techniques) I am focused on assuring that the couples I work with are appropriately challenged, engaged, and offered equal voice and space in our session, to allow for an unraveling of deep patterns of insecure functioning.
I am committed to honoring and welcoming the diverse identities, backgrounds, and lifestyles of all of my clients, and hold a strong belief in the human capacity to not just survive, but thrive in a life created with agency, intention, and joy.
