In our work together, I will lead with curiosity. I am passionate about learning who you are, identifying what's important to you, and witnessing how what you are experiencing affects you emotionally. I wonder if it aligns with your values. What's changing for you? What brings you to therapy now? It is my purpose as a therapist to see you, hear you, understand your story, and support your goals. Together, we'll map the history of the problem as a way to identify your strengths and work to co-create your preferred story. My goal is to help you develop an empowering relationship with the changes that affect you and explore ways for you to implement the change you want to see.

I am in the process of forming a Men's Therapy Group for Long-Term Survivors of HIV. This is an opportunity to start the new year with a group of men who understand what you've been through, share the same experiences, and face similar challenges getting older as an HIV-positive man. Dating, sex, medical issues, aging, retirement, cut-off relationships with family members; these are some of the common, unexpected hurdles faced by men living with HIV. Please contact me to find out how you can participate. Referrals are welcome and appreciated.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

Being a member of the "Baby Boomer" generation gives me insight into the challenges faced over decades of living. My personal experience and clinical training in the LGBTQ community has inspired me to focus on gay men over 50 who struggle with issues of aging, health, relationships, sexuality and addiction as long-term survivors of HIV. My experience and work with addiction allows me to support those of you who are currently working within a 12-step program, and also collaborate with you when you don't feel supported in that environment by helping you build an empowering relationship with addiction.
