My Approach to Helping
I'm a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a graduate of George Mason University. I am Filipino-American with years of clinical experience in Asia, the Middle East, and the United States. My background has given me firsthand insight into the disparities people face (social, economic, cultural) and how these can lead to profound mental distress.
I'm direct, straightforward, and committed to cutting through the noise. I don't sugarcoat, but I always come from a place of compassion. I aim to create a space where honesty and healing can coexist. Life is messy, painful, and complicated, but I stay grounded in optimism and resilience, and I aim to help others do the same.
My clinical focus includes individuals dealing with mental health conditions and substance use issues. I follow evidence-based practices and am particularly cautious about polypharmacy. I see medication as one of many tools available, not a universal fix. I find deep purpose in this work. Psychiatry allows me to witness the real transformation that comes with support, education, and empowerment. Mental health is the cornerstone of overall health, and my goal is to help clients understand their diagnosis and treatment options so they can move forward with clarity and confidence.
